A watch from Poland
For several decades there was no Polish mechanical watch. This is where the idea to establish a manufacturing workshop which would restore the dormant tradition came from. The first prototypes are being made in Zielona Góra and it is here that Polpora Automatic, the first Polish self-winding watch, was released.

The workshop’s name reflects two important elements related to each Polpora watch. On the one hand, it is closely related to the place, on the other it pays homage to the passage of time. Therefore POL refers to the watch’s Polish origin, while PORA (time) symbolises a given moment in time.

The Zielona Góra shop’s logo is a cross. On the one hand it refers to the first Polish sovereigns, when a cross was minted on coins (denarii), and on the other to Switzerland, and more specifically – its flag and national emblem. In this way we get a restored connection with both Poland and the tradition of the place where the heart of the watch – its movement – originated.

The first three collections were launched towards the end of 2007. The first models of the POLPORA timepiece - Gnesna, Cracovia, Varsovia - came in limited editions, with 9 pieces from each collection.
