Gold Silver Time 2008 – Warsaw under the banner of jewellery

It was already for the 9th time that in early October the key event for the industry, the Gold Silver Time Fair in Warsaw, took place. The opening ceremony was a very special event with appearances by Poland’s First Lady Maria Kaczyńska and Gdańsk Mayor Paweł Adamowicz. They were accompanied by Amber Ambassador Lidia Popiel and representatives of trade organisations and institutions.

The First Lady then took part in the opening of the Heavenly Jerusalem Triptych and two exhibitions: The Maria Magdalena Kwiatkiewicz Polish Contemporary Jewellery Art Collection by Galeria YES of Poznań and Barbara & Andrzej Bielak – 30 Years in Jewellery: Rings organised by the BIELAK Gallery of Cracow.

Exhibitions were an important part of the GST Show and gave the exhibitors and trade visitors a chance to experience art at its best. Apart from the two exhibitions already mentioned GST also had Presentations 2008, The Curiosity Cabinet (pieces by Vratislav Karel Novak from the About the Artists series by the Art Gallery in Legnica), the annual exhibition of works by students of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Łódź, the Gold and Silver Handicraft competition exhibition, and the Debuts exhibition which showcased pieces by artists taking their first steps in the jewellery market.

The exhibitions of jewellery were accompanied by two others dedicated to photography: Jewellery in a Flash by Lidia Popiel and the Australian-inspired Broome – People, Pearls, Landscapes.
