The Moscow Watch Salon celebrates its 10th anniversary
The Russian International Exhibitions Company Rosinex, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Government of Moscow are pleased to announce the 10th anniversary of the Moscow Watch Salon 2008, which will be held from 15th to 18th October 2008. This international exhibition, which specializes in the exhibition of watch and watch accessories, will take place in Moscow’s best exhibition centre at the World Trade Centre.

Since 1998, the purpose of the exhibition has been to unite companies working in the watch industry under one roof. The aim has been to develop the Russian watch market through the presentation of products and services. The salon creates the ideal environment for professionals in the industry to search for new partners and contacts. Rosinex is extremely pleased with the achievements the fair has made since its beginning.
Throughout the Moscow Watch Salon, Rosinex has created a business programme where visitors can take part in seminars and round tables to discuss the most important and current issues and meet other professionals from other countries.

Russian watch market
Russian watch market had different times. The today's condition of the market pleases with constancy in a condition of rest. The economy of Russia in left year 2007 has shown very good results: growth of industrial production has made 6,4 %. Growth of incomes of the population has led not simply to growth of consumption, but to structural changes in preferences of Russians. As people remain more and more free money, they willingly spend them on watches, and on watches dearer. Practically all companies marked growth of sales in the year 2007 – both wholesale and retail.

On world and also on Russian market two tendencies are clearly visible. The first – watches become more and more individual. The individualization of consumption became base which does demanded new marks and mad, at first sight, models.
The second tendency is that from the device and even a symbol of the status watches have turned to a toy.
In the year 2007 the Russian watch market has set up one more record. Parameters by quantity and costs of watches put from Switzerland to Russia have appeared higher, than for all 2006. If consider the comparable period growth has made 142 % in quantitative expression and 56 % in cost. Russia has confidently borrowed 12 places in a rating of countries – the largest importers of the Swiss watches, that means 31, 7 million Swiss francs of total volume of purchases of watches.

The processes occurring in the Russian watch market reflected on exhibition business in this branch. Within ten years in Moscow passes an exhibition called «Moscow Watch Salon» which and till today is unique professional platform where watch business experts from all over Russia get together every fall to learn about the news of the world watch market and form the range of products for the following year.
Having overcome the 2006 decline on the Russian watch market, the exhibition still unites all of the Russian retail representatives and manufacturers.

The substantial improvement on the Russian watch market lets us face the future with optimism. The lasting economic recovery, consumer demand reserves and growing well-being of the population, in particular, in Moscow and other large cities, confirm that the market development prospects are favorable. The active fashion industry development as well as growing number of large-scale shopping centers also has a positive effect on the market development dynamics. The fact that the number of exhibition participants increased by 20% vs. 2007 is the evidence of the recovery of the watch industry.
Moreover, it provides a unique opportunity to promote new watch brands, accessories and equipment. According to the independent exhibition audit data, 82% of the exhibition visitors are Russian watch business experts from 62 regions of Russia, 6 CIS-countries and 11 European countries.
