A record-breaking number of 82 works by 59 companies and designers was entered in the competition. Following the decision of the Committee, the cover of the 2008 Polish Jewellery Business Directory will feature Marek Mikicki’s Modern Lady ring. The ring combines contemporary style, exquisite workmanship and immense attention to detail. It will be a beautiful calling card of the Polish jewellery industry both in Poland and abroad. All the winning pieces and those selected by the Competition Committee will be promoted in the Polish Jewellery Business Directory advertising materials. The Award Ceremony, when the winners will be presented with statuettes, will be held at Amberif 2008. Grażyna Wolszczak will congratulate the prizewinners on behalf of the Competition Committee.

The top ten also includes the works by Paweł Kaczyński, Małgorzata Wąsowska, the Paragon company, Jacek Ostrowski and Anna Horsecka. The readers of www.pb.info.pl valued most highly: original design, the diversity of materials, with amber in the majority, and shapes inspired by both natural forms and geometrical symmetry. Exclusive quality was definitely something the readers appreciated: original and unique jewellery designed and made by a single individual as a limited series, with attention to detail.
